Double S Ranch

Ranch Sorting is a two rider activity.  It is a timed event where you move ten numbered cows (0 thru 9) one at a time from one round pen to an adjoining pen.

To begin the first rider crosses the line and a number is announced for the team of two.

The numbered cow announced must be sorted out of the herd and moved across the line into the adjoining pen then the second rider continues with the next numbered cow, until all cows are sorted.

In competition you have 90 seconds to sort all the cows in sequence for a clean run.  Great fun for all ages and horse abilities.  No experience necessary.

Ranch Sorting

Never assume a horse remembers anything from one day to the next. Check his responses and use previous lessons as warm-up exercises before trying to advance to something new.
